Transit signal priority systems use a combination of components to better accommodate vehicles and ensure a smooth flow of traffic throughout a corridor.
Signal Priority Systems reduce transit times, improve schedule adherence, and increase road network efficiency as measured by the mobility of people.
Our signal priority systems allow you to smooth out the flow of traffic by both detecting the presence of a vehicle and predicting its arrival time at the intersection. Our real-time, adaptive systems can incorporate information on traffic flow, flow coordination, bus schedule adherence, and prior bus arrival times.
Benefits of Signal Priority System
No Unecessary Delays
Improved Fuel Efficiency
Increased people throughput
Reduces Congestion
Improved travel time
Enhanced Traffic System Reliability
How it Works
Our TSP system allows the transit vehicle to send a signal to the traffic signal controller. The traffic signal controller then decides how the traffic signal should react to the information based on the parameters it was given. Our TSP systems decide the response depending on a variety of factors including the method the public transport vehicle uses to send the signal, the type of data sent by the vehicle, and the way in which the controller adjusts the traffic signal timing to provide priority.
