TRVERSE-enabled Peshawar BRT Named Finalist at Decarbonising Transport Awards 2026
TRVERSE welcomes the global recognition of Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit system, which has been selected as a finalist at the Decarbonising Transport Awards 2026 under the category Best Behaviour Change & Public Engagement.
Delivered by TransPeshawar, the Peshawar Sustainable BRT Corridor Project demonstrates how well-planned public transport systems can influence long-term travel behavior. By encouraging a shift from private vehicles to public and active transport, supported by strong citizen engagement and a Bicycle Sharing System, the project is reducing an estimated 31,000 to 32,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
The Decarbonising Transport Awards recognise transport initiatives that deliver measurable carbon reduction while driving meaningful public participation. Being shortlisted alongside leading international mobility programs reflects the growing global relevance of people-first urban transport solutions.
At TRVERSE, this recognition aligns closely with our focus on smart, sustainable mobility systems that are data-informed, inclusive, and designed around everyday users. It reinforces the importance of integrating technology, policy, and public trust to support cleaner and more efficient cities.
