Pakistan approves first solar-powered terminal for Metro Bus
Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans to build Pakistan’s first solar-powered metro terminal. The project will begin in January and become operational in the next three months. Electric Vehicles soon to be used for school transport in Pakistan
The Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change has urged the use of Electric Vehicles to transport students to their institutes. The consideration comes in wake of the rising smog and air pollution in the country. Senator Seeme Ezdi presided over the meeting and recommended using sustainable transport as vehicle emissions contribute 43% of air pollution in Pakistan. Find out more about this story here.

PM inaugurates Karachi’s Green Line bus service
Prime Minister Imran Khan has formally inaugurated trial operations of the much-awaited Green Line Bus Service project in Karachi. The project comes under the Karachi Transformation Plan that includes five major projects including the Green Line bus service. Toyota teases concept of 30 new EVs by 2030
Toyota, the giant Japanese automaker has announced plans to launch 30 electric vehicles across its brands Toyota and Lexus by 2030. The lineup covers a wide variety of vehicles including a sports car, an SUV, and a Toyota Pickup EV besides the current lineup. The new wave of EVs will be completed by 2030. Harley-Davidson’s electric bike brand to go public
Harley-Davidson becomes the first publicly traded electric bike company in the US. The company recently announced its electric bike brand LiveWire’s merger with Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC). The deal formed between the companies took Harley’s stocks up by 10% in premarket trading after the news was announced. Read more here.
Nissan to build more battery recycling factories in Europe, US by 2025
Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. has announced its plans to build new battery recycling factories in Europe and the United States by 2025. Rivian’s shares fall after company cuts EV Production
Rivian’s shares plummeted after the company announced it is facing supply chain issues. Earlier, the automaker said it fell a few hundred vehicles short of its target for 2021. The news came alongside the company’s plans to build a $5 billion factory in Georgia. Read more here.
