Buses being procured for new airport Metro Service Islamabad

The metro bus project from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad International Airport is on its way to completion as the city managers have placed an order for 30 buses. The project started under the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in March this year with a budget of Rs 300 million. Check out more about it here

Foodpanda launches pilot project for “PandaFly” drones

Pakistan’s leading food delivery company and e-commerce platform, FoodPanda has launched a pilot project to deliver food through a customized drone. The test flight of the drone took place in F-9 Park Islamabad in association with the Deputy Commissioner Office, Islamabad. Read more

Dubai all set to launch its first flying car in 2023

A US-based company LuftCar is all set to launch a flying car to solve the traffic congestion problem in big cities. Santh Sathya, the founder of LuftCar said they are targeting 2024 for the launch but early funding could expedite the commercialization for 2023. Check out more about it here.

BlueEX joins hands with PayPro to offer digital payments facility

Blue-Ex has now officially joined hands with PayPro to provide innovative E-commerce integrated payment solutions to BlueEX customers. The eCommerce Courier & Logistics Company is also set to go public soon on Pakistan Stock Exchange. Through PayPro, BlueEX aims to provide convenient, flexible, and cashless experience to its customers. Read more here.  

Lucid Motors’ market value blows past Ford 

Lucid Group’s market value blew past Ford Motors to $89 billion as the shares went up by 24%. The rise in the stock price brought Lucid Motors close to General Motors which has a market cap of $90.9 billion currently. Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson said there is still a long way to be valued like industry leader Tesla for them. Read more here. 

Siemens Mobility records €12.69B in orders

In the financial year 2021 which ended on 30th September, Siemens Mobility recorded a whopping €12.69 billion in orders. The number rose up by 38% from last year’s number. Siemens Mobility said the orders were up across all business sectors including two regional trains from Austria and locomotive orders from Germany and Slovakia. Read more here

Rivian becomes 4th most valuable car company

After the massive IPO and stock market debut, the American electric vehicle automaker’s stock market valuation rose to the value of $117.74 billion. The company now ranks as the fourth most valuable car company behind Toyota, Tesla and Volkswagen and ahead of General Motors and Ford. Check out more about it here.

Kia to become carbon neutral by 2045

Kia is all set to become a sustainable and responsible mobility solutions provider as the company pledges to become carbon neutral by 2045. By that time, Kia plans to reduce 97% of the company’s carbon emissions and ditch combustion power completely. Check out more about it here

Kia steals fastest-charging record from Tesla

Kia’s all-new EV6 crossover has made the Guinness World Record for the shortest charging time to cross the United States in an electric vehicle. During the seven-day trek that started from New York City and ended in Los Angeles, the Kia EV6 was plugged in for 7 hours 10 minutes and 1 second, beating previous record holder, Tesla, by more than five hours. Hyundai unveils electric concept SUV at LA Auto Show

Hyundai Motors has unveiled their electric concept SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show as the company tries to strengthen their electrification push. The carmaker also plans to gradually phase out combustion-engine cars in global markets to fight climate change. Check more about it here.

Tesla’s Powerwall installations surge to 250,000 units

Tesla’s Powerwall installations reached a new milestone after it surged to 250,000 units across the world powering homes with the residential battery pack despite shortage. The company introduced Powerwall 2 back in 2016 and has accelerated the deployment since 2020. Read more here.
